| Georgia Games Internship Program |
The Georgia State Games is looking for talented, aggressive, outgoing and innovative interns to assist in the preparation for this year's events. Internship opportunities are offered in both paid and unpaid positions depending on intern's experience & skills, time commitment availability, academic credit ability and semester sought.
As a member of the National Congress of State Games, the Georgia Games is an amateur sports association offering athletic competitions throughout the year, culminating in July with the Championships, an Olympic-style sports festival open to all Georgia residents. In this year's Championships, athletes will have the opportunity to compete in over 40 sports in the Atlanta area.
Outside of the Championships, the Georgia Games has a full schedule of activities. During May and June, the ten District Sports Festivals offer their own special mix of athletic events throughout the state. The Georgia Games also hosts Run For Life. In addition, the Georgia Games has an active mascot, "Spike", who was introduced in 1994. |
Following are descriptions of the positions available in various departments at the Georgia Games. Dates and times for internships are flexible. All applicants must have strong writing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Depending in position experience with certain graphics program is required.
- Internship offers either housing and some meal reimbursement OR up to a $1,000 semester stipend.
- Fulltime internships are preferred & recommended, but part time unpaid internships are also available.

Internship program has been offered for over 20 years
Students have come from the following US States: AK, AL, AR, CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MI, MS, MN, MO, NC, NE, ND, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI and WV including the countries of Canada, England, Germany, Hungary, Kenya and South Korea just for internships with the Georgia Games.
Internships are first offered to students completing the internship for academic credit.
Interns have turned down the United State Olympic Committee, professional and College programs to intern with the Georgia Games. |
