TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

Rules:

Red Point- This type of competition provides many different climbing routes. Each route has a different level of difficulty and a unique point value commensurate to the level of difficulty. Points are gained only if the route is completed. The basic strategy for the red point is to warm up on easy climbs. After warming up and ready to peak on the hardest climb you are capable of sending. Once a competitor touches the route, the attempt will be counted toward the score. Judges will witness climb and score as deemed appropriate.

Scoring:

Competitors may climb as many routes as desired during the designated session. Each route is assigned a point value reflecting the difficulty, as well as other factors such as length and height. Points are awarded by completing the route, as marked, without physical aid, following the route rules, and matching (both hands) the last hold.   Competitors will climb designated routes as fast as possible and times recorded.  Competitor’s hands must follow the marked route.  Time starts as soon as the timing judge says “climb”.  Time is stopped with the slap of the final hold.
Falls may be defined as the following:
- Any weighting of the rope or coming off the wall for any reason (other than a technical)
- Using holds and/or features not marked for the route
- Not following route rules.

Awards:

Georgia Games commemorative t-shirts to all participants. Medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each division.
