expected to attend. VA has been added to the invitation.
7 v. 7 Rules:
·
Sportsmanship is of paramount importance in this tournament. Yellow cards will accumulate and red
cards can disqualify a player for the entire tournament (at discretion of
tournament director).
·
Teams on the field shall consist of 7 players
(including the goalie
·
Minimum players to start and continue a game
are 5.
·
Field size: 50yds x 60yd
·
Regulation size goal
·
Both teams are responsible for providing one
ball each
·
Shin guards are required for each player
·
Kick-offs are taken at the halfway line
·
All restarts, except penalty kicks, are
indirect –including corner kicks.
Opposing players must remain 5 yards away
·
Unlimited Substitutions on a dead ball for
either team. No substituting while
the game is still in play.
Substitutes must have the referee’s permission before stepping onto
the field
·
One referee per game will be used
·
Games are 30 minutes in length- running clock-
no halves
·
Running clock-no stoppage of game clock for
any reason (including injuries)
·
Goalkeepers: Keepers may not punt or dropkick
the ball past half-field. An
indirect kick will be awarded to the opposing team at half field. Keepers may throw as far as they wish.
·
Goal kicks may travel past half field
·
No offside rule
·
Penalty kicks will be taken at the top of the
goal box
·
Throw-ins will be used for balls that travel
past the sidelines
·
Tie games remain a tie in pool play. Sudden Death overtime periods, followed
by penalty kicks if still tied
·
Each team is responsible for one ball each.
·
Ages U10 uses a Size 4 ball
·
Ages U12 and up
will use a Size 5 ball
Competition
Format:
Pool play to
bracket play. Three games guaranteed.
Uniforms:
Uniforms must
have clearly visible numbers on front and back. Georgia High School Association
rules state that you may not wear high school uniforms.
