Facilities |
A 25-yard indoor pool with 10 competitive lanes for finals. There will be 10 lanes for
warm-ups. Outdoor patio and surrounding area available for tents. |
Timing: |
Electronic in-deck timing system with 10 lane scoreboard. Back-up button and stop watches will also be used. |
Rules: |
2011 United States Swimming Short Course rules will govern the conduct of the meet for
preliminaries and finals, as well as the GRPA Athletic Manual where applicable.
(A participant may be disqualified from an event for a second false start.) |
Eligibility: |
Open to all GRPA and recreational swimmers statewide. |
Entry Level: |
Each entrant may enter six swimming events and two relays. |
Seeding: |
Each swimmer shall be seeded in their designated amount of heats according to the USA
Swimming Guidelines. Finals will be seeded in 10 lanes.
Age groups may be combined where necessary to make meet run efficiently. |
Awards: |
Awards will be given to the top three finishers. |
T-shirts: |
All registered swimmers receive a Gerogia Games Championship t-shirt. |
Awards Presentations: |
Medal presentation will be held four times during the meet.
After the 50 free, 500 free, 200 medley relay, and final event. |
Disqualification & Protests: |
A participant may be disqualified from an event for failure to swim a stroke correctly, false start or unsportmanlike conduct. Any protests or clarification of decision must come from
participants coach or agency representative only. No parents shall be allowed to file a protest or approach any official while the meet is in progress, subject to the disqualification of the swimmer for the duration of the meet. A written protest may be filed with the Meet Director, who then has the authority to take it to the State Athletic Committee, if deemed necessary, or make a ruling on the spot. |

Separate Women’s and Men’s heats will be held except 1000, 500 and 1650 free which will be mixed heats ,women and men combined. Heats will be organized by age, with older swimmers before younger swimmers, except in the last event the 1650 and relay events where young swimmers will race first to provide older swimmers more rest after the relays. |
Relays |
|
Each swimmer is limited to 2 relays. There will be 3 separate relay age brackets for each of the 4 relay events based on total age of 4 swimmers -- under 160, 160 to 239 and 240 Example a team with swimmers 24,44, 45, and 46(total of 159) would race in the under 160 age bracket group while a team of swimmers 80,75, 43 and 42 would swim in the 240+ age bracket.
Mixed relays consist of 2 men and 2 women in any order. Masters swimmers are limited to their club relays while Unattached Masters swimmers and non-Master swimmers are permitted to assemble “pick-up” relays at the meet. All relays will be “deck entries” the day of the meet and cost $5 per relay. Relay entry forms will be available at the check-in desk the day of the meet and due before event #12. Each swimmer is limited to 2 relays. |
