VIRTUAL 3 STAGE TRIATHLON

Consisting of swimming, bicycling and running, a triathlon is the ultimate test for an athlete.

General Information

 

What is a Virtual Triathlon?

Our virtual triathlon is a combination os three individual events the the Georgia Games current operates as part of the Grass Roots Georgia Olympics each summer. We operate a cycling, swimming and running road race already and will add the times for each persons events to make a "triathlon" time.

Eligibility:

Anyone is eligible to enter and compete t=in this event, though it is geared more for the first time athlete as the "hardened" tri-athlete enjoys the transition areas which is the one items that is not apart of the this virtual competition.

Dates & Sites: 

July 10, 2010 for Cycling- Road Race (Cycling, is around the City of White, in Bartow County, GA) The first lap of which ever race you are in will the the time submitted for the cycling portion of the virtual triathlon.

July 17, 2010 for the Open Water Swim (Open Water Swim in at Lake Acworth, Cobb County, GA)

July 31, 2010 for the 5k Road Race (5K running Road Race is in Kennesaw, Cobb County GA)

To Register:

Each person who enters ALL three events will be AUTOMATICALLY be entered into this three stage virtual triathlon.

Entry Fee: There is no separate registration fee for this virtual triathlon. The registration fee are the three individual registration fees.

 

Entry Deadline: Saturday - July 10, 2010

 

Divisions: M/W 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+; Clydesdale (men 200lbs. +), Athena (woman 150lbs. +)

Competition Regulations

 

Race Format: Swim: 1K

                        Bike: 17 miles

                        Run: 3.1 miles

 

Awards: Top 3 finishers in each division will receive a medal.  All participants will receive a Georgia Games T-shirt through their other individual sports registrations.
